Mark is the Merck Serono Senior Lecturer of Reproductive Biology in the School of BioSciences at the University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD at The University of Nottingham, UK, before undertaking positions at the University of Missouri USA, and subsequently, at The Liggins Institute University of Auckland and AgResearch in New Zealand. The current focus of his research, across a broad range of species, is in understanding how diet, environmental contaminants and ART can perturb mitochondrial function, embryo development and the long-term health of offspring. In addition, he has developed, and is actively engaged in commercialising a sperm microfluidic technology for application in both human and animal ART.
